My Tots Kitchen

My Tots Kitchen shows the way in helping families feed their babies and children.

Emma Storey and Ruth Robinson both felt really passionate about showing parents how they could learn to cook for their families using locally sourced, organic produce. The NHS can only provide a limited service and as food is so important to child development and wellbeing they successfully researched the idea for a range of parent/carer focused courses.

My Tots Kitchen (http://www.mytotskitchen.com) offers parents and carers four weekly courses, local to them, to show them how to cook for their growing families; from weaning right up to cooking with toddlers. Director Emma Storey explains, “We show that providing for a family can be inexpensive, quick and easy. Our courses also provide parents with a social network in their local area, bringing together like minded parents and carers.”

Emma and Ruth started to work on our business plan at the beginning of 2011 and officially set up the business in April 2012. They have been delighted with the support of Fiona McDonald, Barclays Bank Manager and Mentor. “Fiona has been an incredible sounding board for us. We have been able to check our progress, discuss options to get our product to market and get help with setting goals and monitoring progress”

Mentor, Fiona McDonald has also enjoyed the meetings, enthusing, “The opportunity to work with a two passionate mentees and help shape an existing business start has been extremely refreshing, I wish them well in their endeavors.” The business has been registered at Bankside 300, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0LB although the courses will be delivered in the local area in and around Norwich.

Fiona McDonald is an employee of Barclays Bank and a business mentor.
